Morgan Stanley has become the latest investment bank to shuffle executives, appointing CommSec boss Matt Comyn to lead the US bank's retail brokerage operations in Australia.
Mr Comyn will join Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB) as chief executive next month, after quitting online broker CommSec yesterday.
The hiring replaces long-term Smith Barney executive Tom Burns, who was brought from Citi in the US in 2008 to run the retail brokerage business, before it was purchased by Morgan Stanley.
Mr Burns returned to the US in October and local Morgan Stanley bosses carried out a lengthy recruitment process before hiring Mr Comyn.
