Pioneer Investments taps new head of Asia, ME

Pioneer Investments has named Jack W. Lin as head of Asia and Middle East. In this role, he will build the firm’s presence and further expand its business to fit the broader growth plan in this region, positioning the company’s capabilities to large, sophisticated institutional investors. These will include sovereign wealth funds, central bank reserves, large state pension funds and global distributors.
 
Lin joins from Janus Capital where he held the position of head of Asia-Pacific since 2008. He has spent almost his entire career in Asia starting as an analyst and portfolio manager in Franklin Templeton Emerging Market Group. Here, in addition to regular investment responsibilities, he played an important role in helping establish Templeton fund management activities in a few key Asian markets, such as Korea, China and Vietnam. He then became CEO of Franklin Templeton's joint venture in China (Franklin Templeton Sealand Fund Management) and was subsequently promoted to head of institutional in Asia for Franklin Templeton.
